Pastor Brad Hindsley

Brad Hindsley, MCFE/MBA/MDiv grew up on a small farm in LaPorte, IN where his family raised pigs, cattle, chickens and goats in addition to growing various kinds of produce and producing the family’s signature maple syrup. This is where he remembers falling in love with the beauty of food. This love has grown throughout his life and led him to seek his degrees in the culinary arts. Brad attended Robert Morris University in Chicago where he earned his Associates’ Degree in Culinary Arts, Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, and Master’s in Business Administration. After working in the restaurant industry for more than 16 years and after several years of nudging from God, Brad answered his call to ministry in the summer of 2017 and enrolled at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary that fall. Brad has recently completed all of his coursework to earn a Master’s of Divinity and will officially graduate in May of 2021. Brad grew up in the church and attended Door Village UMC with his family when he was younger and served in a variety of leadership positions after high school. For over four years, Brad served as the Director of Youth Ministry at Door Village and most recently serves as an Associate Student Pastor at Hammond First UMC. Brad answered his first call as a Chef and his second call as a Pastor and is passionate about feeding the stomachs and souls of all of God’s children. Much in the same way that God through Christ used food to transform the lives of the marginalized, Brad seeks to use his vocation as a chef and his passion for ministry to answer Jesus’ call to “Go and do likewise”.
